CEO & Founder of Cruxpoint Health Breakthrough, Inc.

Gary V. Koyen has over 45 years of experience as a breakthrough consultant. An experienced international consultant, he has worked with leaders and companies in America, Australia, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and Singapore. In addition to his extensive study of psychology, he has a strong quantitative background in hard sciences, advanced math, logic, statistics, and research design. He brings real intellectual rigor to the process of change and sustained success.

As a breakthrough consultant, he is creative and provocative, valued by senior leaders for his insight, candor, and courage in guiding people and companies to breakthroughs in performance. He spent over 30 years as a breakthrough consultant to name-brand Fortune 500 companies.

Gary is also an experienced small business entrepreneur, having launched several businesses during his career. In 2010, he began a serious quest to bring his breakthrough methodologies to the health arena, resulting in the 2017 launch of Cruxpoint Health Breakthrough, Inc.

In 2019 he began writing the book: Living Sick in a World of Abundance, to be published in 2021.

Gary grew up on a farm east of Fremont, NE. He is an avid outdoorsman and athlete, involved in camping, hiking, scuba, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, mountaineering, mountain biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, running, and other athletic activities. 

Bob Ingram

CIO / CTO

Robert C. Ingram III brings leadership depth in information technology to  Cruxpoint. His professional career began with Andersen Consulting in 1982. He left Andersen as an Associate Partner after 12 years for a series of senior technology and innovation leadership roles. He has also served on the Board of Perftech, a start-up consumer food packaging company. He has been an independent investor and advisor since 2021.

Bob has a long history of successfully transforming IT organizations for Fortune 500 companies, and has a track record of designing and improving operational functions and enabling businesses to deliver great product and service experiences. He served Erie Indemnity Company as executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO), where he was responsible for ongoing design of the company’s IT strategy and further development of its technology platform. Prior to Erie Insurance Ingram served The Hartford Financial Services Group as senior vice president and CIO for commercial lines, and CIO for Hartford’s Investment Management Company and Enterprise Risk Management. Prior to Hartford, Ingram held CIO positions at Safeco and at USAA’s property and casualty company. Ingram holds both an MBA in finance and accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas A&M University.

Ray Sprague

Retired Insurance Industry Executive

Ray Sprague is a senior insurance executive known for progressive thinking, conviction and perseverance, and creating innovative environments that deliver exceptional business results. He leverages deep knowledge of the industry’s entire value chain to solve problems, evaluate new opportunities, and enhance performance. He consistently placed his organizations at the leading edge of technology and data analytics. A calm and adaptable leader, he creates purpose-driven, customer-focused cultures. In his long career at The Hartford, Ray served as EVP of Strategy and Business Development, EVP of Personal Lines, SVP of Small Commercial division, President and COO of HartRe, and drove corporate innovation, evaluated merger and acquisition opportunities, and led a venture funding team.

Ray has served on multiple boards, contributing discipline, operational methodology, and mentorship. He currently applies his expertise as a strategic consultant to industry executives, and he recently led the creation of a new venture that will provide analytics and product management support to small insurance carriers. He also assists private equity companies in evaluating opportunities in the insurance sector.

He lives in Florida and has been married nearly 40 years to his wife, Linda. He has two sons and recently welcomed his first grandchild into the family. 

Steve Fitzgerald

Board of Directors

Steve Fitzgerald is an enterprise consultant and CEO of the FireStorm Group Ltd, specializing in developing critical talent, executive succession, creativity, culture & change, M&A integration, and human capital strategy.

His executive career has spanned 30+ years, and includes roles at Bridgewater Associates, Visteon, Vail Resorts, Fairlane Credit, Sun Microsystems, and Avaya. Steve credits his early years at Ford Motor Company (a 100+ year old enterprise) as being foundational in building early mental maps for the systematic development of talent.

Steve is also an award-winning pottery artist. His hand-thrown, raku-fired pieces can be viewed at Firestorm Clayworks.

Taking full advantage of each Colorado season, Steve participates in cycling, hockey, Nordic, alpine, and backcountry skiing, fly fishing, and a variety of other outdoor pursuits from his home base in Fraser where he lives with his wife of 30+ years, Diana.  

William Blanchet, M.D.

Chief Medical Advisor / Clinical Research, Heart Disease

Dr. Blanchet was raised in Louisiana on his family’s rice and cattle farm. He attended medical school at LSU and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Missouri. He began practice in Boulder in 1986 and opened his own private practice in 1998.

Dr. Blanchet is a well-known and respected member of the Colorado medical community. He served as the Director of the Boulder Valley IPA and Medical Director of Boulder Manor. Currently, he is the Medical Director of Professional Home Health Care, a Board Member at Tara School of Performing Arts, and the Owner/Medical Director of Front Range Preventive Imaging.

He is a local keynote speaker and advocate of early detection and prevention of heart disease and colon cancer. He is passionate about providing effective management of cardiac health in his patients and combines a wonderful, kind approach with keen intellectual abilities. Dr. Blanchet’s patients benefit from his willingness to take the time necessary to diagnose and treat complex medical conditions.

Bill has been married to his wife, Donna, since 1981 and have three children. He is an enthusiastic gardener. His favorite pastime is fly fishing. 

Lindsay Woods, MBA

VP: Client Education & Advocacy

Lindsay Woods has a strong pharmaceutical industry background in cardiovascular disease. As the Clinical Liaison for Front Range Preventive Imaging for over 10 years, Lindsay interfaced with physicians, patients, and public media regarding the early detection and prevention of diseases, namely cardiovascular, lung cancer, and colon cancer.

Lindsay is actively involved in women’s health issues and especially in the area of coronary prevention. She is on the local lecture circuit, speaking to groups on women’s health and on the early detection and prevention of disease.

Lindsay also has a strong background in media. In Florida, Lindsay produced and hosted a syndicated television show, “Bones, Hormones and Hot Flashes,” addressing osteoporosis and menopausal issues in woman. For 10 years, Lindsay was the producer and host of “The Tuesday Talk Show” on KRFC radio 88.9 FM in Northern Colorado, a weekly live show centering around current health topics and issues featuring key thought leaders from the Colorado area. Lindsay has used some of these podcasts to produce a series of CDs: “Beyond Cholesterol,” “Heart Scans,” and the newest upcoming CD, “Medical Myths Debunked,” featuring Dr. Bill Blanchet.

Lindsay is a competitive dancer, competing nationally in both Country and Ballroom Dance. She won the World Championship for her division in 2010. Lindsay is also a serious equestrian, competing in showing pleasure and reining horses. 

James Ehrlich, M.D.

Chief Medical Director

Jim Ehrlich graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine, and did his internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he was an instructor, board examiner, and clinical assistant professor.

Teaching new ideas and introducing emerging technologies have animated Dr. Ehrlich’s work for decades. As an authority in imaging and diagnostic technologies, he has delivered over 200 lectures to physician audiences on 5 continents, was the course co-director for two annual symposia on preventive medicine/cardiology for 11 years, and made over 200 TV and radio appearances discussing early detection and emerging concepts in prevention and personalized medicine.

Dr. Ehrlich is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado (endocrinology) and served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center. He is board-certified in two fields: anesthesiology and obesity medicine. From 1981-2000, he practiced anesthesiology at community hospitals in Denver and Boulder, Colorado.

He switched to a focus on preventive medicine utilizing high-tech risk assessment, and in 1997 founded Colorado Heart and Body Imaging in Denver. A total of 14 diagnostic tests were first introduced to the Rocky Mountain region by these centers. Dr. Ehrlich also medically directed HeartScan in Washington DC, Houston, and Indiana.

Dr. Ehrlich served as the CMO of Atherotech, the nation’s largest cardio-diagnostic lipoprotein laboratory focused on lipid, genetic, metabolomic, and proteomic biomarkers for primary and secondary prevention. Cardionexus employed Dr. Ehrlich as senior medical advisor for the launch of the CardioHealth workstation, an automated vascular ultrasound device. Jim also served as the medical director for Level 1 Diagnostics, as a Medical Advisor to Premier Micronutrient Corporation, and as a medical director for CardioDx. He is a founding member of the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging and a co-founder of the Society of Cardiovascular CT. He is a task force member of SHAPE, the Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication. Much of his research has focused on the monitoring of subclinical atherosclerosis in insulin resistant states, Type 1 diabetics, and kidney failure patients.

In June 2013, Dr, Ehrlich helped conduct basic and clinical studies on an antioxidant-rich fruit (bergamot). He continues to publish findings on the cardiometabolic, lipid, hepatic, and sports performance attributes of a proprietary extract of the bergamot citrus fruit. He is the founder of Monitored TeleMedicine, a company that advances research in home-based wireless data acquisition, and improving care for patients while educating medical students. 

Gerry Schmidt, Ph.D.

Medical Director, Mental Health Services

Gerry Schmidt, Ph.D is a master therapist as well as a transformational coach, health consultant, and speaker on the subject of resiliency, trauma, and rapid transformational change. He has 35 years of private practice as a psychotherapist / transformational coach. He has a TRE Certification which enables him to provide tension and trauma release exercises and is also an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner.

Gerry has been a partner with Gary Koyen in bringing intensive, high-impact change processes to corporate America, and has provided breakthrough therapy to many thousands of individuals. He brings depth, maturity, and leadership to the Cruxpoint mental health services. His relaxed style, personal availability, and extensive experience create an inspiring environment for rapid change.

Gerry is a co-author of The New Technology of Achievement, author of Reimprinting with Divine Intervention, and two books on change.

Gerry lives in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife and loves being on, in, or near the ocean.   

Chris A. Knobbe, M.D.

Medical Director

Chris Knobbe, MD, is a physician, researcher, ophthalmologist, and Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus, formerly of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Knobbe is known primarily for his research, publications, and presentations connecting Westernized diets to numerous chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, cancers, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune diseases, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Dr. Knobbe’s research has focused greatly on “vegetable oil” (seed oil) dangers and their unequaled contributions to Westernized disease.

In the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Knobbe is known for his revolutionary hypothesis and supportive research regarding the potentially blinding eye disease, AMD. Knobbe’s hypothesis holds that AMD is driven by processed, nutrient-deficient, and toxic foods, of which seed oils are the most pernicious and deleterious.

Dr. Knobbe has delivered numerous presentations at CME events and has been a frequent presenter for the Ancestral Health Symposium, the Weston A. Price Foundation, the American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health (AAOSH), the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD), the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society (OWNS), and the Macular Degeneration Association. He has given a number of keynote presentations for various organizations, including AAOSH, AAPMD, and OWNS. He is Founder and Director of both Ancestral Health Foundation and Cure AMD Foundation, nonprofit organizations with goals of treating and preventing chronic disease. Dr. Knobbe’s goals are altruistic and humanitarian, as he seeks to end preventable heart disease, cancer, blindness, and many other chronic diseases, through the profoundly beneficial effects of ancestral dietary strategies. 

Michael “Corey” McCarty, D.O.

Director of Clinical Services

Dr. Corey McCarty graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine 2001. He completed his residency in 2004 at Eastmoreland Hospital, Portland Oregon, and served as Co-Chief Resident. He completed a Fellowship Anti-Aging and Metabolic Medicine (FAAMM), became certified in Functional Medicine, and has been in family practice for 20 years. In practice he has earned a reputation for thoughtful and compassionate care, while emphasizing a holistic and functional approach to health and well-being.

Corey has focused most specifically in cardiovascular and endocrine health with the 30 to 75 year-old population. He has been engaged in lifelong learning in metabolic, cardiovascular, and anti-aging medicine.

His personal interest include raising and supporting two amazing children, and active participation in the outdoor lifestyle in Colorado including hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and rugby. 

Terrill Spencer

Health Coach

Terrill Spencer’s number one skill is cooking. She is a master chef and baker, with a very keen ability to create tasty and healthy food. She is expert at recipe-based cooking and creative cooking. She’s an excellent coach for those learning how to make great food that enhances their health and well-being. 

Terrill also has a business background, with small business management experience. She owned and operated a restaurant for 4 years, started a small business out of her home, and managed a dental office for 7+ years. Terrill managed Comstock Hunting Lodge in Nebraska where she started out as head chef. At the same time, she was part owner of Spencer Herefords, Inc. where she was involved in all aspects of the business from accounting to marketing and the day-to-day business of running a cattle ranch. 

Terrill is a person of strong faith, a relentless problem solver, a self-starter, and always interested in helping others. She has experienced and resolved her own health challenges, including severe arthritis, car sickness, and acne. She learned through her own journey that food has power. “Bad food harms us and good food heals us.” She is committed to maintaining strength and fitness, and is a champion of the view that every small bit we do helps us achieve and maintain our goals. Most of all, her own experiences of ill health and restored health help her to understand and empathize with others caught in health crises. 

Terrill grew up on a farm in Nebraska where she spent time riding and showing horses. Terrill likes sports of all kinds and is always ready to try something new. She loves being out in nature. One of her favorite things is hospitality: Cooking for friends and family and preparing a warm, gracious table. Terrill has five adult children and lives with her husband in Colorado.

Edward Nichols

Director & Legal Counsel

Mr. Nichols is an attorney located in Littleton, Colorado. He is authorized to practice in the States of Colorado and Kansas, United States Federal Courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also Managing Director of Nichols & Company LLC, a management consulting firm.

Prior to Nichols & Company, Mr. Nichols practiced with Nichols and Wolfe where he specialized in municipal bonds. He has since worked as an attorney in investment banking and as a consultant with public and private companies in the U.S. and Europe. He has also co-owned and operated oil and gas production and gas gathering and processing companies in Kansas and Wyoming. Mr. Nichols has served as a Director and member of the Executive Committee of several public companies.

Mr. Nichols holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washburn University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Mr. Nichols is a member of the Board of Governors of the Law School and an Advisor to the Transaction Law Center at the University.
